About Our Coaches

Solcana’s coaching staff reflects our gym’s deep commitment to offering high-quality, rigorous fitness to people in an accepting and supportive environment. That’s why we have our coaches go through [what type of] initial training while also completing [how many] hours of ongoing education every year.

Solcana coaches have the following qualifications:

● Current valid certification in CrossFit, NASM, ACE, and personal training
● USA powerlifting and weightlifting experience
● Training in kettlebells, suspension and functional movement/mobility, trauma-sensitive yoga, pregnancy and postpartum exercise
● Nutrition specialists
● A deep commitment to equity and inclusion
● An understanding of how to make fitness body-positive and shame-free

Garrett Hoffman

Garrett has been a member with us for almost 5 years, and became a student of strength and fitness about 6 months ago. He will be taking over the 4:30 and 5:30 pm classes on Fridays starting in April. Fun facts about Garrett: his favorite lift is the snatch, he is obsessed with nuclear disasters, and he has Rheumatoid Arthritis that he manages largely with diet, CrossFit, and mobility. (He’s happy to talk to others about this more if you have questions!)
