Coach Hannah’s master stroke of programming genius came to life in dramatic fashion last week in Event #3. People gave heaps of intensity and heart to the workouts and the team spirit was off the charts.
A long row on top of multiple weighted movements, chipper style, meant there were many ways to approach the workout. Some of you challenged yourselves to the burner of a lifetime with a ton of stability work to boot. Some of you pushed the limits of your strength and technique with heavy Snatches at the end of a grueling “buy-in”. In all cases, it was really fun to see the results, get cheered on and cheer in return. Speaking of cheering and results…
Contest: The Team Spirit Award
The winner of this week’s contest goes to 4 Peas in a WOD! You might not have experienced this team’s spirit in person since they, “get to Friday Night Lights 10 and a half hours early.” However, it is super inspiring to see them solemnly gather before sunrise to crank out reps together. Way to be there for each other Hannah C, Riley H, Daniel S-R and Jenn H.

Additional team spirit kudos go to As Many Rats As Possible and Whole Gain Bagels for showing up to represent their teams with hand-made team paraphernalia and ecstatic cheering.

Athlete Shoutouts
Sam T and Jonathan P both opted for the heaviest category and were each able to complete 1 rep of the Snatch at the end. In both cases it felt like such an incredible effort and victory.
“Margaret P really went heavy on this one and she pushed soooo hard to finish 6 snatches.”
Lisa P completed the workout at FNL and then CAME BACK on Sunday to try again and got 2 extra reps!
“Hannah Hutchins isn’t doing the invitational but she came to FNL. She was really worried about what to do, but found modifications that worked for her, and she rocked it.”
“It was really fun to see an athlete like Daniel S-R go from being the self proclaimed “slowest” to having such an amazing performance here.”
You can see that people’s hard work is paying off. So many athletes really gave everything they had to this workout and the end results were amazing.
